So Heres a rainbow cloud frame I drew up for my niece's nursery wall. The top arch is a chunky rainbow, warm yellow on top, sky blue in the middle and a slim black band beneath, sitting on two soft blue clouds with the cute scalloped bottoms. Below the clouds hangs a full ring of pastel stars, kinda like wee paper bunting, with little bead dots tying them together so the loop reads as a single piece of garland.

Star colours rotate through blush pink, peach, mint and a soft lilac, with cream-white stars filling the gaps. The black outline around every shape is whats giving it that storybook colouring-book feel, its bold but the light pastel fills inside keep the whole thing gentle. Last spring one customer ran the 6 inch version across the chest pocket area of a soft fleece baby blanket and the contrast with the cream backing was honestly perfect for a baby shower gift.

Density runs a touch moderate at 350 spi, bang-on for nursery fabrics. Nine sizes total, smallest at 3.26 inch wide (about 6029 stitches) up to a 6.98 inch hoop fit at 18317 stitches. Nine colours, Tajima output from the software I use. The lower star ring runs each colour in short sequences so be sure to keep your thread changes organised, theres ten stops total.

Stitch this one on light cottons, jersey or muslin, basically anything you'd reach for in a nursery. Reach for a soft mesh stabiliser when stitching baby clothing because the design has those long jump stitches between stars and you dont want them poking through onto baby skin. Hoop a soft topping over towelling or fleece so the cloud satin doesnt sink in. Skip dark fabric on this one, the pastel star fills go muddy as soon as the base goes deeper than soft mid-grey.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Newborn nursery wall hoopsHoop the 6.98 inch size in a wood frame and hang above the changing table for a soft nursery centrepiece
  • Baby shower gift onesies and bibsStitched at 3.5 inch on a white cotton onesie chest, ready for a baby shower gift bag the same afternoon
  • Cot quilts and crib panelsRun at 5 inch on cot quilt corners, the outline holds shape through wash cycles thanks to the tight contour
  • Soft fleece baby blanketsThe 6 inch version on a cream fleece blanket gives a chunky readable graphic that survives drool and tummy time
  • Cuddly muslin swaddle cornersStitched at 4 inch on a muslin swaddle corner over a thin mesh layer, soft enough not to scratch baby skin
  • Toddler tote bags and lil backpacksSized at 4.5 inch on a toddler canvas tote, kids love the ring of hanging stars dangling around the rainbow arch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
