This rainbow is the kind of soft rounded arch that goes with the modern nursery aesthetic everyone loves right now. Each of the five colour bands is a clean smooth satin fill and the whole arch has a gentle curve to it, its not perfectly geometric, it has a little softness that keeps it friendly rather than stiff. At 3.5 inches wide its small enough for a bib corner, at 7.5 inches it fills a onesie front properly.

Five colour threads, each band its own swap, the sequence is quick because the arcs are short sections and the stitch count is light. Smallest size is only 2,200 stitches, the largest comes to just under 7,000, so this is one of the fastest stitching designs I've got for nursery pieces. At a baby shower last february a customer told me she finished 12 personalised onesies in a single afternoon using this one.

Works on basically everything in the nursery category: onesies, bibs, burp cloths, little cotton pouches, muslin squares, crib sheets. Use a light tearaway stabiliser on cotton knit, a cutaway if you need extra security on stretch fabric. The density is low at 199 so even thin cotton doesnt need much stabiliser support. Skip only very sheer fabrics where the bobbin thread might show through the arcs.

Stitch it in a ring as wall art, pop it on a hooded towel, use on the corner of a swaddle blanket. The pastel colour range is flexible enough that you can swap threads to match any nursery colour scheme without it looking wrong. Send message if you need help matching colours for a specific theme.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
