Its a fingerprint but every ridge line is a different colour of the rainbow. The whole shape follows the actual contour flow of a real fingerprint, the whorl at the centre, the ridges spiralling outward and curving at the edges. 12 colours running through the full spectrum, each one assigned to a band of ridge lines as they move from centre to perimeter. From a distance it reads as a solid round shape exploding with colour, up close you can see every individual stitch following the ridge direction.
12 colours and 11 colour changes. Stitch count runs 14,727 at the smallest 2.51 inch size up to 30,855 at the full 7.51 inch width. The contour satin fill means every stitch runs directional along the ridge curve, which requires the underlay to match. professional digitising software mapped the underlay per zone so the finished piece doesnt have sections where satin lays flat against the curve and loses sheen.
Theres no outline stitching anywhere on this one. The colour transitions between bands do all the separation work. That means fabric texture matters more than usual here. Smooth woven cotton and linen work brilliantly. Avoid pique, waffle or towelling because surface texture breaks up the colour bands and makes the transitions look muddy. I had a customer in late March stitch the 5-inch size for a white cotton tee for a pride event and she sent me a photo from across the street and the colour gradient was still completely clear. Really satisfying one to see stitched out.
Pick from 9 sizes. Pair a brushed cutaway with woven fabric and heavy cutaway if theres any stretch. Hoop snug with the fabric grain straight so the circular outline doesnt pull oval under tension.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
