Five little hearts in five different colours, side by side. Thats it, and for nursery and kids stuff thats exactly what works. The hearts are solid satin fill, all uniform size, spaced evenly, going through red, orange, yellow, green and blue in sequence so the whole thing reads as a rainbow colour run. Density is 579 spi which gives the satin a smooth surface without making the design stiff on soft fabric.
Four sizes, smallest at 1.14 by 1.51 inch and biggest at 3.4 by 4.51 inch. The largest is still small by most design standards, so this is built for placements where you want something compact. Stitch counts go from 2740 up to 8878. At the small 1.14-inch size each individual heart is realy tiny, so use a sharp 70/10 needle and dial in your tension before you start, otherwise the satin on the small hearts can look rough at the edges. Use a cutaway stabiliser even on woven cotton for baby items since theyll go through repeated washing. Pair it with a name in simple block letters just below the hearts for a personalised baby gift.
Five colour stops means four changes through the run. Most customers dont mind the stops since the sequence is short. Combine adjacent stops into one if your thread colours are close enough and you want a faster run. Some customers do all 5 hearts in varying shades of one colour family instead of the full rainbow, which looks nice on gender-specific nursery items. Skip the bright spectrum version if youre going for a subdued muted palette, just pick five tones from the same family.
A customer last year put a row of these across the chest of a baby sweatshirt in soft pastel versions of the colours and it looked completely hand-done rather than machine-made, which is the whole point. Another customer put the 3.4-inch detail on a small nursery pillow in bright primaries and it matched the nursery perfectly.
Consistent hooping and a cutaway backing keep each heart sharp across the full colour run.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
