I digitised this one back in march when I kept getting requests for something cheerful for kids rooms and baby showers. Seven hearts, seven colours, hooped in a tight arrangement that reads well even at 3.5 inches wide. The density sits at 63, so its not a heavy stitch-out, and the smallest version clocks in around 1,006 stitches which is really quick on the machine. At the full 7.5 inch size youre looking at 22,874 stitches, still very manageable for a design with this much colour.

The satin fills on each heart are directional, meaning each one runs at a slightly different angle to catch the light a bit differently once its on fabric. Use a light cutaway stabiliser underneath for jersey and a tearaway for woven cotton, and you wont have any puckering issues with either. Alot of multi-colour designs can shift during hooping but because each heart is fully self-contained it holds its registration really well. And the colour sequence is clean, seven stops, no extra bobbin changes mid-heart.

I had a customer email me last july saying shed put the 5-inch run on a toddler tee and it came out looking better than she expected, colours popping without bleeding into each other. Thats the kind of feedback that makes the extra digitising passes worth it. Pick a 75/11 sharp needle on quilting cotton and slow your machine down abit if its your first run with this many colour stops. Stitch each heart section at consistent speed to keep the density even across all seven fills. So if you want to add aswell some texture you can swap one of the heart fills for a pattern stitch, just keep the underlay consistent.

Comes in all 8 formats, PES, DST, JEF, HUS, EXP, VP3, XXX, CND. Nine sizes from 3.5 spanning 7.5. Holler if there are any questions about file compatibility or sizing before you stitch it out.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Newborn onesies and baby bodysuitsNewborn onesie chest with soft cutaway under the snap section, the 3.23-inch size sits perfectly without crowding the neckline.
  • Nursery wall hoop art in a rainbow themeMuslin swaddle blanket corner is exactly where this lives best, the seven colours pop against the loose weave when hooped with a light tearaway.
  • Baby shower gift sets with matching blanket and onesieToddler backpack front panel at the 5-inch size turns a plain kids bag into something a three-year-old will be proud of.
  • Kids birthday shirts and party favour bagsBirthday party tees for kids are the most common batch project this gets used for, seven colour stops sounds scary but each swap is fast.
  • Toddler backpacks and cotton tote bagsFelt patch squares backed with iron-on adhesive using the 4-inch version make quick personalised additions to a jacket or bag.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
