Heres my rainbow mermaid and shes the most colourful piece in the magical fantasy creature range. Side profile, head tipped back with both arms stretched out wide, shes floating upwards. Hair streams sideways in long ribbon tails, every strand a different neon shade: hot pink, lime, electric blue, sunshine yellow, violet. And the tail curls underneath in matching painted scales, the tip flicking back over itself. No black outline anywhere, just pure brushstroke colour on a dark ground.
Painted detail is what makes this piece so magical, every section reads like a wet brushstroke. Hair ribbons each use a single sweeping satin column that fades from one neon at the root to another at the tip, no flat blocks. Scaled tail uses small overlapping satin teardrops in 6 colours stacked like roof tiles. Skin is a soft peach gradient sateen with a hint of warm shadow under the chin and arm. Two seashell bra cups in turquoise and lemon. Theres 14 thread changes, the layered fades make it look like 22.
I made this for a friends 9 year old daughter last april, mermaid party theme, she wanted it on a black tee chest. One customer messaged the next morning asking for the bigger size for her shop window display banner. So this one has been hugely popular for kids fantasy birthday merch, magical themed bedroom cushions, beach club neon nights tote bags, drag night tees, the lot. But it really shines on dark fabric every time and youll see why.
And only stitch on dark or saturated fabric. The whole design is built for black tee, navy hoody, charcoal canvas, deep purple cushion, or a midnight blue tote. Skip white or pale fabric, the design has no outline so the lighter shades vanish into the cloth and youll lose the magical mermaid shape. A black backdrop is whats making the neon glow read electric. Plain dark cotton is the best base, no patterns.
9 sizes from 2.77 wide and 3.49 tall up to 5.91 by 7.5. Stitch count climbs from 26.5k to 67k so the biggest version wants a heavy cutaway stabiliser, slow speed, sharp 75/11 needle. Polyester thread holds the neon under the sun way better than rayon. Hoop tight bc 14 thread changes mean alot of swaps and any drift shows up on the scale teardrops. Send a chat if a colour runs odd, Ill rebuild the chart by morning.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
