Rainbow with two grey clouds tucked at the base and around 20 small stars floating across the sky. Six colour bands curve over the top, red orange yellow green blue purple in order, each band done as a smooth satin column so the rainbow has that classic kids book look.

Two cloud puffs sit at the base of the rainbow, both done in soft grey with rough outlines so they read as proper clouds not solid blobs. Stars are scattered above and around the rainbow, theyre tiny five point shapes in red, yellow, green, grey and purple. Honestly the scatter pattern is what makes this feel like a real night sky rather than a cookie cutter rainbow.

I drew this for nursery decor, baby shower gifts and toddler bedroom pieces. A customer ordered the 4 inch version last christmas for a newborn cousin and stitched it onto a white muslin swaddle, came out really sweet. Also lovely for kids name banners, bedtime story pillow pieces and baby memory book covers.

Comes in 5 sizes from 2.34 to 5 inch wide. Stitch count runs 14,399 at the smallest to 29,702 at the largest. 9 colours total which means a fair few thread changes but the rainbow bands stitch in order so its smooth. Density sits around 791 which is moderate, plus the design height runs to a 7.5 top so its quite tall.

Pop this onto cotton, fleece, linen or muslin and it looks lovely. Skip thin silky satin for the biggest sizes because the dense bands can pull. Layer tearaway under woven cotton, back any tee with cutaway. Just message me if a file fails to open and ill follow up fast.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Newborn muslin swaddlesWhite muslin swaddle with the name stitched below the rainbow, a newborn gift that goes on the shelf later as a keepsake.
  • Nursery wall hoopsCream linen nursery wall hoop, the scattered star detail rewards the close inspection from a parent leaning over the cot.
  • Toddler bedroom pillowsPale grey toddler pillow case, the rainbow arch centres between the two cloud bases and needs nothing else on the face.
  • Baby memory book coversBaby memory book cover in cream cotton, the smallest size sits above the title block without crowding the space below.
  • Kids name bannersKids name banner, the smallest version at the top of each letter panel ties the whole string together.
  • Bedtime story pouchesWhite cotton onesie chest for a rainbow newborn photo shoot, the tall proportions fit the chest panel without running off edge.
  • Rainbow theme onesiesSoft pink bedtime story drawstring pouch, 4.5 inch version, sweet without being so busy it distracts from bedtime.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
