Most paw print designs are just flat shapes, filled solid, no texture, no detail. This one went a different way. Four toe pads at the top, large heel pad below, all done with dense directional fill stitching so the fur texture is actually there. Scratch lines radiate outward from each pad in the direction real fur would grow, claw tips sit at the top of each toe, the edges are rough and fringed rather than clean, it has that wild energy to it, like the dog that left this print was not small.

my usual software carried the punch with proper directional underlay before each fill pass so the texture stays readable even after washing. Five sizes spanning 3.5 to 7 in sizein, stitch counts from 14,767 at the smallest up to 37,073 at the full 7-inch version. Density is 722, so its a thick heavy design, it needs a cutaway stabiliser full stop. Send me message if youre unsure which stabiliser weight to use for your specific fabric and Ill send a corrected file.

I get messages from dog lovers who want something that looks serious rather than cute, and this is the one I point them to. The halloween and valentines day versions of paw prints you see everywhere are cute but they dont hit the same way. Thats just the difference between a flat cartoon shape and a file digitised to replicate actual fur structure. Stitch it on a dark fleece blanket, on the back leg of jeans, or large on the front of a hoodie and youll see what I mean.

Use cutaway stabiliser always on this design, no exceptions. The density at 722 means the stitch mass is heavy and only cutaway will hold that long term. Hoop your fabric drum tight before you start, with 114 trims the machine is jumping constantly and any slack will show. Black thread on grey, tan, or olive fabric all look great, pick a background that gives the texture somewhere to land.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Dog owner hoodies and sweatshirts with large back panel designThe 7.5-inch version on the back of a plain dark hoodie hits like a proper graphic, not like a craft project.
  • Pet memorial items on blankets and cushion coversMemorial blankets with a beloved pet's paw stitched on them are one of the most ordered items I hear about from customers.
  • Dog trainer and groomer uniform or apron embellishmentGroomers and trainers love having something on their apron that signals the trade without being cheesy.
  • Personalised pet gear like bandanas, leash bags and collar pouchesSmall 3.5-inch version on a bandana or leash bag is the right scale and the texture reads well even at that size.
  • Dog rescue charity merchandise and fundraiser itemsRescue orgs use this on fundraiser tote bags, the raw realism of it gets attention in a way that cartoon paws dont.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
