A vintage open-top convertible car, the kind with rounded fenders and a flat hood, packed so full of luggage and tropical plants that palm fronds are spilling out of the back seat. Suitcases in mustard yellow and tan are stacked up in the rear, and the whole scene has that mid-century holiday postcard look. Nine colours across the build: cherry red for the car body, warm cream trim, mustard suitcases, forest green palms, sky blue windscreen, tan leather seat, chrome silver details, warm orange accents, and off-white on the tyre sidewalls.

Its a genuinely detailed piece, one of the more complex things Ive put together for this collection. Five sizes from 2.76 inches wide up to 6.48 inches, heights between 3.01 and 7.01 inches. Stitch count goes from 15,303 up to 42,913 at the largest size, and density tops out at 945 which is firmly on the high end. Use a heavy cutaway on the back, layer a soft cutaway behind stretch fabrics and press it flat before you hoop. my workhorse software handled the underlay so the chrome details and satin column work on the bodywork panels dont sink into the backing weave. A customer had the 5-inch version stitched onto a canvas weekend holdall last Christmas as a gift and said the cherry red came out really sharp against the natural canvas colour. She came back and bought two more in january for friends.

Best on denim, canvas, thick cotton, or structured bag fabric. Add a wash-away film layer on any fabric with visible texture. Slow your machine down for the dense sections and dont rush the thread changes, there are nine of them and getting the bobbin tension right early saves you from unpicking later.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Canvas weekend bags and holdalls as vintage travel giftsThe 6-inch version on a large natural canvas holdall looks like a custom illustration, no extra text needed.
  • Denim jackets and shirts for a retro road-trip aestheticWorks well on the back of a light denim shirt at the 5-inch size with a firm backing on the inside panel.
  • Cotton tote bags and farmers market shoppersCentre it on a heavy cotton tote at 5 inches, the cherry red car body stands out on cream or olive fabric.
  • Kitchen towels and aprons with a retro holiday themeStitch onto a thick cotton tea towel at the 4-inch setting with a cutaway behind the cloth.
  • Wall art hoops for a travel-themed home office or loungeFrame in a 7-inch natural linen hoop for a ready-to-hang piece, the detail reads well at viewing distance.
  • Vintage-style patch work for denim quilts or textile artUse small patches of the 3-inch version across a denim quilt block for a travel story layout.
  • Personalised luggage tags and travel accessory pouchesRun the 3-inch size on thick cotton luggage tag panels before punching the eyelet and adding the tag ring.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
