Worked up this design for people who wanted something romantic but not obviously a valentines card. The tree is the main event, tall with those curling scroll-style branches that spread out wide, and every leaf position has a small red satin-stitched heart instead of foliage. It reads as a love tree rather than screaming valentine, which is what makes customers use this year-round not just in february. The bicycle at the base adds a story to it, theres a little basket on the bike also packed with red hearts, and a few birds flying off to the right carrying hearts on strings.
I built the file in professional embroidery software. The black treework runs at density 423 and the directional fill on the trunk gives it that wood-grain look you see in good botanical illustration. The red hearts use a dense satin fill, not just an outline, so they read as proper solid hearts even at the 3-inch size. 2 colours only: red and black, which keeps thread changes to one stop mid-hoop. Use cutaway backing on woven cotton so the trunk base stays flat under the bobbin weight.
5 sizes from about 3 inches up to 6.26 inches wide. One customer stitched the 5-in run on a navy cotton tote last year and messaged me to say it looked better on dark than she expected. The red really does hold against charcoal or navy without special prep. The birds on the lower right are a nice detail people dont always notice straight away. Theres a little suprised reaction when they spot them up close on the finished piece.
Stitch the large size on a canvas tote and youve got a keepsake bag, not something thats gonna look like a gift shop buy. Add the 3-inch size to a linen tea towel for a quick coordinating set. Text me if the file gives you any trouble and Ill sort it straight away.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Cotton tote bag for a romantic gift or anniversaryRun the 6-in version on a cotton canvas tote for a romantic gift that works beyond valentines season.
- Linen cushion cover for a bedroom or reading nookPick the 5-in size for a linen pillow cover for a bedroom reading nook, the black and red palette is easy to style.
- Framed hoop art as a year-round home decorationStitch the large size into a 7-inch hoop and hang as wall art, looks good in living rooms and home offices.
- Jean jacket back panel or denim shirt frontPop the 4-in run on the back of a denim jacket with no topping needed, the stiff weave holds the detail well.
- Kitchen towel or flour sack tea towel setAdd the small 3.5 to a flour sack tea towel, hoop with lightweight tearaway and it stitches clean.
- Bridal shower table centrepiece fabric hoopUse the 5.5-in run on a linen hoop as a bridal shower table centrepiece, sits flat and displays well.
- Tshirt chest placement for a casual everyday lookStitch the 4-inch on a cotton tshirt chest, add cutaway backing and it holds its shape through washing.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
