Seven bulbs sit around a wavy circular cord, spaced like hours on a clock face, each one pointing outward from the centre. The cord isnt a perfect geometric circle, its got a slight scallop to the path between each bulb which keeps it from looking too rigid or computer-drawn. Colours go green, yellow, orange, purple, and blue across the strand, 6 colours total with the black cord. That clear middle space is the big selling point here because you can stitch a name, a monogram, or a year right in the middle and the wreath frames it without competing.

Three sizes, from 3.5 inches wide by 3.63 inches tall up to 5.5 inches wide by 5.7 inches tall. Stitch count is 3,493 on the smallest and 5,721 on the largest. Density is 182 which is actually lower than most of my other lights designs, the open fill on the cord makes it stitch faster and puts less stress on the fabric. Customers have been ordering this one a lot this christmas for personalised gift bags with names in the middle. Hoop with a cutaway stabiliser and make sure your fabric is pulled drum tight, the circular path needs good tension to stay round.

Six colour changes, so your machine pauses 6 times. Stitch slow on the cord section if youre on an older machine, the scalloped path has directional changes that can create jump stitches on machines with slower thread trimming. Use topping film on fleece or terry fabrics so the satin bulbs dont sink into the pile. Pop a firm cutaway under jersey or knit to keep the circle from distorting when you remove it from the hoop.

White, cream, or oatmeal cotton linen and canvas are all great base fabrics. The open centre looks best on a plain background so whatever goes in the middle reads clean.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Personalised Christmas gift bags with a name in the centreStitch the wreath on canvas gift bags, then add a name or year in the open centre with a second run.
  • Christmas tree ornament fabric patches with year or initialsCut a fabric circle with the design centred, back with stiffener and add a ribbon loop for a tree ornament.
  • Holiday pocket squares and linen napkin centresThe 3.5 inch size sits neatly in the corner of a standard linen napkin without crowding the edges.
  • Monogrammed Christmas stocking cuff circle designStitch the monogram first inside the circle placement area, then run the wreath around it for a framed look.
  • Kids Christmas shirt chest panel with name inside the wreathUse the 4.5 inch version on a kids shirt chest, stitch their name in a simple font inside the open centre.
  • Seasonal door hanger fabric panel with greeting text in middlePrint the text separately on the fabric panel first, then embroider the lights circle around it as a frame.
  • Christmas pillow cover centrepiece with family name or yearCentre the 5.5 inch wreath on a throw pillow panel with a year or holiday greeting stitched inside.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
