The running horse family is the biggest stitch count design Ive put out and Im suprised every time how well it holds up on the hoop. Three horses mid-gallop side by side, manes and tails streaming back in full motion. The stitch density is at 3,473 which is genuinely high, and the largest size tops out at 154,940 stitches, so this isnt a quick 20 minute job.

Three colours only but the layering is what makes it look like more. Warm chestnut for the bodies, a darker brown for the shadows and muscle definition, and a lighter cream for the mane and tail. The manes use long flowing directional stitching so they actually ripple. On a good hoop these look like they belong on a proper printed canvas.

After releasing this last autumn I was recieved really well by equestrian communities and western decor sellers. A customer who does custom horse gifts for her local 4H club has ordered this in batches for pillow panels and wall frames. Real working herd energy that people recognise.

Nine sizes from 3.51 inches up to 7.51. Use a firm cutaway stabiliser since the density is high and anything less will shift. Stitch on medium-weight canvas, denim or thick cotton twill. Avoid thin fabric on the large sizes, the density will cause it to pucker. The detail in the horses' eyes and legs comes through best at 5 inches and above. Big enough to frame. Done.

Dm me if any size file fails on load and Ill rebuild it for you.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Equestrian gift throw pillowsA 7 inch version on a tan canvas pillow panel makes a dramatic equestrian centrepiece for a living room.
  • Western decor framed fabric artFramed in a large wooden hoop on ivory linen it reads as proper western wall art in a den or hallway.
  • Horse lover tote bagsOn a canvas tote bag centred at the 5 inch size it makes a strong horse lover gift that doesnt feel generic.
  • Ranch and barn themed home textilesStitched onto thick cotton dish towels or burlap runners it adds a rustic ranch feel to kitchen decor.
  • Custom 4H club awards and giftsCustom pillow panels at the 6 inch size have been popular as 4H club achievement gifts and senior awards.
  • Denim jacket back panel designsOn the back of a denim jacket the 7.5 inch version fills the panel perfectly as a wild horse statement.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
