The longhorn is staring straight at you and it genuinely means it. Wide curved horns sweep out from both sides, dark charcoal with a brown root and a slight taper to the tips. The whole head is covered in shaggy tufted fur rendered in layered directional stitching so the texture reads like actual fur rather than a flat block of colour. Rust amber on the outer coat, tan sand on the forehead centre, dark espresso in the shadowed areas around the jowls and ears. Two small white highlights on the nose bridge catch the light.

Kinda all about the stitching technique, honestly. professional tools digitised the fur in proper directional runs, the strands flow the right way down the face and round the ears, and thats what makes it look painterly rather than flat. Six colours, six changes, 207 trims on the smallest size climbing to 228 on the biggest. The density hits 45k stitches at 7.51 inches so youre not gonna blast through the largest size in ten minutes, budget maybe thirty on a home machine.

I get messages from western and country decor makers about this design constantly. One customer last spring used it on a tan canvas ranch apron for her husband, said he wore it every saturday at the grill. Another buyer in texas ordered five of the large size on raw denim shirts for a ranch-themed event and sent photos. Properly bold from across the room.

Best base is a medium-weight canvas, denim, twill or heavy cotton. Skip jersey and fleece on the larger sizes, 45k stitches needs something stable underneath. Use a firm cutaway stabiliser and hoop it tight because those long directional fur passes will drag if theres any slack. The biggest 7.51-inch version really pops on a dark olive or tan canvas tote or apron.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Ranch and western themed apronsStitch the 7.51-inch on a tan canvas apron and the shaggy fur detail holds up clearly at arm-length viewing distance.
  • Denim jacket back or chest panelPop the medium size on a raw denim jacket chest and the directional stitching catches the light the same way denim does.
  • Country farmhouse canvas toteEmbroider the 6.51-inch on a heavy natural canvas tote for a farmers market regular who wants something that looks earned.
  • Rustic home decor wall hoopHoop the 5.47-inch in a 7-inch wooden frame and hang it on a barn wall or kitchen as a rustic country focal piece.
  • Western-themed gift pouches and bagsSew the smaller size on a canvas zipper pouch and use it as a gift wrap for western jewellery or keepsakes.
  • Farm-to-table event staff shirtsRun the medium size on dark olive work shirts for a farm-to-table restaurant where the country aesthetic matters.
  • Mens western shirt chest pocketStitch the smallest 4.51-inch on a mens western shirt chest pocket for a subtle but recognisable ranch detail.
  • Livestock show programme merchandiseUse the large size on canvas merchandise bags at a livestock show or county fair for branded giveaways.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
