So this sad teddy is the one I drew after my niece told me her bear was having a rough day, and honestly he gets ordered the most around late october when everyone wants comfort gifts. Hes sat on the floor hugging his knees, head tipped sideways, that pouty little frown that just melts you. Hes wrapped up in a fluffy white hooded bath robe two sizes too big. Stitch range runs 34k on the small all the way to 79k on the 7.5 inch.

Eight thread colours total. Caramel and chocolate browns layer up across the fur with crosshatch pencil shading so the texture reads dense and soft, not flat. The robe sits in off-white with cool grey shadows tucked into the folds. Density is 1615 which is on the heavy side, so dont try and stitch this on flimsy fabric.

Best results come on a midweight cotton tee, sweatshirt fleece or canvas tote. Skip thin jersey and silky satin, the dense fill will pucker and warp. Use a no-show mesh cutaway stabiliser, it'll keep the bear sharp through wash after wash. Pop a piece of water-soluble topping over the robe section to stop the stitches sinking into terry pile if your blank has any nap.

I get messages every november about this design from people stitchin gift hoodies for friends going through breakups or grief. One customer ordered three small ones for her mums dementia ward last christmas and sent me a thank-you note. Pair the 4 inch on a left chest pocket, run the 7 inch across a pillow front or memory blanket panel.

And one tip on colour, if your blank is dark navy or black just swap the off-white robe thread for a brighter cream so it doesnt go muddy. Hit me up before scaling the 7.5 inch on stretch fabric, ill rebuild the underlay so it dont distort.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
