Sketched up the sailing boat sunset as a proper patch badge layout. The whole thing sits inside a black circular border, kinda like a souvenir badge youd sew onto a duffle. Inside that circle the sky breaks into bands. Deep violet purple up top, then orange, then a big yellow setting sun cut in half by the horizon line. The boat itself is full black silhouette with a tall single sail and a tiny figure standing near the cabin.

Below the horizon the water runs in horizontal stripe stitches, turquoise and bright cyan with darker bands of midnight blue. Reflections drop straight down into the water in irregular shimmers, kinda broken up like real sea ripples. Six colours total, including 1 black border, and the bands are stacked so you only swap thread once per layer rather than jumping back and forth.

Each stripe gets done in long horizontal satin runs which is what gives the patch that printed-poster look. Density on the water section is heavier than on the sky so make sure your stabiliser can take it. Hull and sail render as flat black tatami fill with a clean directional underlay so the silhouette stays crisp against the bright orange sun behind it.

I drew this for nautical fans and sailors mostly. The small at 3.62 by 3.61 inches and the big at 7.62 by 7.61 inches, perfect for a duffle pocket or a denim jacket back panel. One customer ordered six of em last summer for her dads sailing club end-of-season giveaway, stitched the medium on canvas tote bags. She told me ya wouldnt believe how fast they went, every member wanted one.

Best results come on canvas, denim or heavy cotton twill. White, sand or natural canvas backgrounds work best, thats where the sunset colours really sing. Skip dark shirts, the black silhouette and circle border vanish into navy or black fabric. Avoid stretch knit, the dense water section will pucker on jersey. Run a heavy no-show mesh under it, hoop tight, and slow your machine speed for the dense sun panel. Total stitch count hits 78k on the biggest size so youre in for a long run. Ping the shop chat if the silhouette drops out and ill rebuild that section.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
