This is a lil bolder than your typical beach quote design. The top word sits in these wide wavy chunky letters, kinda like the letters themselves are riding a wave, and 'soul' sweeps underneath in a long flowing brush script. Three colour job: a sandy tan, ocean blue, and white, and together theyve got that sun-bleached coastal look that works really well on navy fabric or natural linen.
The stitch count is hefty because of how the top block letters are filled. At the largest 7.51 inch size youre looking at 60,989 stitches, so its not a quick run. At 3.51 inches wide the count drops to 25,841 stitches, which is still substantial. The density is 1,120 and Id honestly say this one needs a proper cutaway stabiliser, not tearaway, ya need the backing to hold all that coverage in place.
One customer grabbed this for tote bags she sells at a beach shop, photo came in last August, and it looked genuinely like something from a surf shop, not a home craft project. Thats kind of what I was going for with the colour palette. professional digitising software carried the punch and the directional fill on the wavy block letters gives them a raised, slightly 3D look on the fabric.
Use a firm cutaway stabiliser under woven cotton or canvas. For terry towels and waffle fabric go with a water-soluble topping over the cutaway or the stitches will sink into the texture and the script wont read cleanly. Skip sheer or lightweight fabrics entirely since the density is too high for them.
Comes in at 3.5 in on the small side, 7.5 in on the big, so you can place it on a sweatshirt chest or go full-size on a beach bag front. Pick your fabric colour carefully, navy, white, or sand all work but busy prints will fight with the 3-colour lettering and one of those thread colours will disappear into the noise.
