Honestly what I like most about this one is the hat. Getting those red satin stripes and the navy star band to sit cleanly under the brim without pulling the goose head out of shape took me a few attempts. The goose body uses directional tatami fill for that soft feathered look, and the underlay run underneath keeps the cream thread from going translucent on lighter fabrics. Its a dense piece. "Salute the USA" arches above in thick satin lettering and theres five separate colour zones just in the hat alone.
I digitised nine sizes in this collection and this goose is one that really shows why more sizes matter. The 3.07-inch version still holds all the hat detail without jump stitches collapsing the star shapes. Hoop on cutaway stabiliser for the hat and lettering sections or youll get pull-distortion on the star band. A wash-away topping film keeps the tatami fills from sinking into fleece or terry loops. Pop the 6.57-inch centred on a cotton twill cap and that red lettering absolutely stands out. A crafter I sold to last week told me she used the 5-inch on a navy sweatshirt and it came out perfect on the first try.
On navy twill the charcoal outline reads really sharp and the orange beak adds a warm accent against the cool blue. Add a light bobbin thread in cream underneath on thinner jersey fabrics to stop the red showing through from the back. Skip heavy iron-on backing on anything under 4 inches. Centre the goose, use tearaway under the body and cutaway under the hat section, and youll get a clean finish every time.
Message me if the metallic thread frays on you.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Fourth of July kids teeHonestly my favourite spot for this one is a white cotton kids tee, the goose pops against the plain background at a barbecue.
- Patriotic baseball capThe 3-inch fits a standard cap panel without crowding and the hat stripe detail stays readable.
- Canvas tote bagTry the 5-inch on natural canvas with cutaway backing so the goose body sits flat and doesnt pucker at the edges.
- Adult sweatshirt frontCentred on a navy fleece sweatshirt the cream goose and red lettering give you that classic americana colour block.
- Denim jacket chest patchSew it down on heavier denim rather than iron-on, the stitch density at this size really needs a sewn-down edge.
- Craft fair gift itemThese move fast at summer markets, especially the week before July 4th when people want something ready-made.
- Memorial Day linen tea towelA 4-inch version tucked in one corner of a linen tea towel is a dead simple gift that people genuinely keep.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
