The hat on this one is the first thing you notice. Its a tall red hat with white wavy stripe patterns running across it and small polka dots scattered through the red sections, kinda like a fancy christmas pudding textile. The hat has a pompom dangling off the tip on a thin string, which in the stitched version comes out as a satin column thread that swings slightly. Thats the detail that makes it different.

Then theres the beard. Long, grey-blue, and it doesnt just hang straight down. It curls. Big loose scroll curls at the bottom like an old illustration from a christmas storybook. The beard fill is 22,709 stitches just in the white-grey section at the largest size, so the directional underlay work on it is proper. In one red mitten hand he's holding a small green christmas tree with little decorations, in the other a red snowflake mitten hangs free. Nine colours: red, sand, grey, green, orange, dark red, white, blue-grey, and black.

I built this for a customer who does custom christmas gifts at a craft fair in december, a woman who orders a bunch of designs that look like they came from an independent illustrator, not a clip art pack. She stitched the 5.51-inch on cream canvas tote bags last year and sent me photos. Realy looked like something from a proper gift shop. Reach out if you want to know what stabiliser she used on that canvas because it can make a difference.

Best on cream, oatmeal, or white grounds. The grey-blue beard colour needs a pale base to read properly. Skip charcoal or dark green fabric here. Use a cutaway stabiliser across the board because at 57,922 stitches on the biggest size you need it underneath. The large 7.51-inch is only 4.35 inches wide so it actually sits well on a shirt pocket column or tote handle panel.

Stitch at reduced speed through the beard section, thats where the density is highest. Hoop firm and check bobbin tension before you start the large size because thread pull on the curl fills can distort if the bobbin is loose. Five sizes from 3.51 to 7.51 inches high.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
