Round little gnome body, classic Scandinavian style, with an oversized deep red santa hat flopped to one side and a white pompom dangling at the tip. No face on this one, just that big cream beard covering everything below the hat brim, which is what gives gnomes that mysterious cozy look. Hes holding a holly garland in front of him, bright green leaves with proper clusters of red berries stitched up tight.
Seven colours running through the design. The red hat is the dominant section and thats where most of the 51,338 stitches at the largest size concentrate, the my software satin columns on that hat fill are what make the whole thing look plush rather than flat. Forest green on the holly and warm grey for the body give it depth without the palette getting messy. Comes in 4 sizes between 3.51 and 7.51 inches wide, and the height at the top size is around 5.37 inches so it fits nicely in a standard 6-inch hoop.
I made this one after my nephew kept asking for gnomes on everything last christmas. He wanted one on his pillowcase, one on a stocking, one on a gift bag. So I digitised a version that would work for all of those without looking too busy or too simple. Message me if you want a version without the garland and I can sort that out as a separate file.
Stitch on white or cream cotton for the cleanest contrast on the red and green. Avoid dark navy or black base because the cream beard and white pompom get swallowed. Use a good cutaway stabiliser underneath given the stitch density at the larger sizes, this isnt a tearaway job once you get above 3.5 inches. Hoop with the grain and go slow on the satin stitching sections. Pop the 5 inch design on christmas stocking cuff, theres just enough room below the hanging loop for the gnome to sit without overlapping the seam.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
