Stitched out this scarecrow pumpkin and its packed with autumn detail. A classic orange jack o lantern sits centred with its triangle eyes and that wide carved grin. On top of his head sits a floppy burlap scarecrow hat, oversized and a little crumpled, with feathers tucked into the brim, a plaid ribbon tied around the crown, and a small orange beak poking out the side. At the base sunflowers and wheat stalks sprout up around the pumpkin, and a strip of green grass grounds the whole composition.
26 threads in the colour list which makes this one of the busier pieces in the catalogue. The pumpkin orange thread runs the heaviest at over 4 thousand stitches on the small size, with the painterly grass and leaf greens close behind. The plaid ribbon uses three separate threads layered to get that proper checkered pattern, and the feathers blend dark grey into cream with directional stitching that follows the feather barb.
This one started last october as a request from a customer who runs a pumpkin patch in pennsylvania. After the patch opens, she said she wanted designs that werent gory or witchy because alot of her customers are church groups and young families. Sent her this and it landed perfect for tea towels and aprons sold at the farm stand.
5 spans 3.5 up to 7.5 across full 7.5 reach across. The smallest fits chest pockets, the biggest sits on a tote panel or sweatshirt centre. Stitches cleanest on cream cotton, sage canvas, oatmeal linen, deep brown denim. Skip anything under 3.5 inches cause the wheat and feather detail will collapse.
Cutaway stabiliser, hooped tight. The colour changes are alot so plan a coffee break halfway through. Switch the bobbin before the orange pumpkin fill kicks in cause that section will eat through whats already in there.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
