Two dandelion stems, both at different heights so it doesnt look like a copy-paste job. The taller one has a full round seed head with all the individual whiskers radiating out, and some seeds have already broken free and are drifting off to the right. The shorter stem sits just behind with another puffy head thats barely started shedding yet. Next to the stems the "scatter kindness" quote runs in a loose casual script, letters slightly uneven in that hand-drawn way.
Single-colour black thread, so theres zero colour changes mid-run. my standard software digitised the seed whiskers as very fine satin lines which is honestly the trickiest part of any dandelion design and they pulled it off cleanly. Stitch count goes from about 6,600 on the 4-inch up to just over 12,000 on the 8-inch, so density stays sensible across all 5 sizes.
My friend brought me her plain white cotton tote last christmas and asked for the 5-in placement on it. People stop her at the farmers market every week about that bag now. Its just one of those quotes that lands without being preachy, and the dandelion matches the message so naturally that the layout sits as one idea rather than a picture plus a caption.
Best on light fabrics where the fine whisker stitches show up clearly. White cotton, cream linen, pale grey jersey all work really well. Use a light-weight tearaway stabiliser on woven tote canvas, or add a water-soluble topping on terry fleece if you want clean whisker definition on the seed heads. Skip dark backgrounds because the thin line stitching gets lost against them and the quote becomes hard to read.
