Scorpion designs are a lil niche but they sell consistently, and this one Im pretty happy with. The tail arcs right back over the body in a tight curve, claws splayed wide, and the 2 colour split gives it real depth without going overboard on thread changes. Ya get the dark body with the lighter belly segment detail, which is what makes this read as a scorpion and not just a blob of satin.

Five sizes, 3.5 by 2.61 inches at the small end up to 7.5 by 5.59 inches for the largest. Stitch count runs from 9910 up to 18551, and the density is 442 so its got a realy solid fill throughout. Directional satin on each ring of the body gives that dimensional look when the light catches it. Stabiliser choice matters here, cutaway is what I always recommend for anything with that kind of dense fill on a stretchy fabric.

One customer used this on the denim biker back last february and sent me a note saying the body rings looked three-dimensional when finished. Thats the directional fill doing its job. Use a firm cutaway stabiliser and hoop the denim nice and taut or you'll get drag on those long satin runs. Add a topping on velvet or loop-surface fabric so the claw outlines dont blur. Ping me if you need a different colour layout and Ill talk you through swapping the thread order.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Biker jacket back panel statement patchRun the 6 inch version on the back panel of a denim jacket with firm cutaway stabiliser underneath.
  • Denim jacket sleeve or back designStitch the 4 inch version on a denim sleeve with a stabiliser layer to prevent satin drag.
  • Cap or beanie front panel designThe 3.5 inch version fits well on a structured cap front panel, hoop the cap tightly before running.
  • Gothic or dark-themed tote bagsPop the 5 inch onto a black canvas tote using dark thread on dark ground for a moody look.
  • Scorpio zodiac birthday gift itemsGreat for scorpio zodiac gifts, the 4 inch hoops onto a shirt chest comfortably.
  • Men's shirt chest logo alternativeUse the 3.5 inch on the left chest of a men's plain shirt for a subtle graphic touch.
  • Patch-style design on canvas pouchesStitch the 3.5 inch on canvas zip pouches as a standalone patch-style motif.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
