Sea turtle seen from above, flippers out wide and head pointing forward. The shell is whats really impressive here, broken into a mosaic of hexagonal and irregular panels, each one filled independently with directional satin so the shell has a real 3D sculptural feel to it. Ten colours: dark teal green, olive brown, warm sand, deep navy, pale aqua, coral orange, forest green, ivory, charcoal, and light moss. Theres alot of colour management in this one but the thread sequencing is clean and logical.
Five hoops, 3.51 wide reaching 7.51 wide, heights 2.2 to 4.7 inches. Stitch counts 16,210 to 38,397. Density is 1,088 which is genuinely high, so this needs real stabilisation. Layer a heavy cutaway stabiliser behind the blank. Stitch it on structured canvas or denim and that density sits beautifully. Avoid the large size on thin jersey without double stabilising or the shell panels will buckle.
One customer who orders ocean designs regularly wrote me last month saying this is the most detailed turtle theyve seen on the market at this price. Im proud of that one, the shell mosaic took a few iterations to get the colours registering cleanly.
Pair this with the smaller 3.5-inch hoop on kid items and the large 7.5 inch on wall hoops or tote bags for a nice size range across a gift set.
