Five starfish and a scallop shell kinda just arranged themselves into a wreath shape here, and it works actually well. The teal starfish are the biggest, sitting left and right with directional satin fills that give them a raised, dimensional look. Two red ones sit lower near the shell, and a sandy gold one is up top right. The scallop shell at the base uses ribbed satin lines running from the hinge outward in pale sky blue. A continuous strand of small rounded teal beads curves around the top arc and links everything together, which is the part customers always notice first.

my digitising suite routed the bead sequence to minimise jump threads. Each bead is a tiny satin oval with its own underlay, which is why the trim count hits 140 at the small size. At 12 colours and 11 changes this is genuinely one of the more complex wreath designs in the range. The density sits at 844 so youre gonna want a firm cutaway stabiliser underneath, especially on linen or canvas where the warp threads can pull under that kind of density. Use a medium tearaway on quilting cotton and youll get clean results. Avoid anything too sheer or stretchy for this one.

A customer last summer ordered the 7.5-inch hoop for a set of linen cushions she was making for a beach rental cottage. She said the colours matched her room palette almost exactly and the stitch quality looked professional from across the room. Add this to a natural linen ground and youll see why. Pair it with a cream or white thread bobbin and the back stays neat even at this stitch density.

4 sizes from 4.50 inches up to 7.50 inches wide, 12 colours, 21,959 to 37,406 stitches. Beach house cushions, linen tea towels, and cotton canvas totes are all strong candidates for this one.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Linen cushion cover for a coastal living roomNatural or white linen with cutaway stabiliser. The 7.5-inch size fills a standard 18-inch cushion cover nicely centred.
  • Cotton tea towel or kitchen linenFlour-weight cotton tea towel with a tearaway backing. The 5.5-inch size sits well in the lower third of a standard towel.
  • Canvas tote bag with a beach themeNatural canvas tote. The 6-inch size is a good fit for a standard front panel. Tearaway stabiliser works fine on canvas.
  • Bathroom hand towel on white waffle cottonWhite waffle-weave cotton needs a topping sheet to stop the needle catching the texture. Tearaway works under waffle cotton.
  • Denim beach bag front panelHeavy denim beach bag with cutaway stabiliser. The 6-inch size fills the front panel of most large tote styles.
  • Baby shower gift on a neutral cotton bibNeutral cotton or linen bib. Use the 4.5 build with a light tearaway backing for softer finished seams on baby items.
  • Quilt block centre panel for an ocean-themed quiltQuilting cotton on a 7-inch finished block. The 5.5-inch size fits a standard 8-inch finished block with comfortable margin.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
