Heres the serious standing owl on cream cotton and hes giving full courtroom-judge energy. Wings folded tight to the body. Talons gripping the perch. Big round amber eyes locked dead-ahead. Not a cartoon owl, not a cute one. Just a proper barn-owl-meets-tawny look thats demanding respect.

I stitched the feathers with directional layering so each section catches light abit differently. Warm brown across the back and wings, rust streaks down the chest, cream belly patch, charcoal on the wing tips and around those huge yellow eyes. And the beak sits as a small dark hook tucked between the eye sockets, alot of work went into the underlay there.

So I get messages from forest school mums alot about this one, they want it on their kids field bags for autumn term. Last october one customer ordered the 5x5 size for matching jumper patches her boy and his cousin wear on owl-spotting walks. Works for the woodland nursery crowd aswell, and the hunting-lodge gift market eats it right up.

Stitch on natural cotton, oatmeal linen, sand canvas or charcoal grey for the cleanest read on those brown feathers. Skip patterned plaid and skip black, the directional feather work needs a calm background to actually show. Cream and tan canvas totes are where this design absolutely sings.

Densest patches sit on the chest fill and the rounded wing edges, theres alot of feather detail packed in. Use a medium-weight cutaway stabiliser, hoop tight, run a polyester topping for sheen on the eyes. Biggest size hits 49k stitches so slow the machine down on heavy fills. Buzz me on chat if the file gives your machine grief.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
