Skeleton hand coming up from a broken ground line, like its climbing out from somewhere you wouldnt want to visit. The fingers are spread wide and each one is individually rendered with the knuckle joints and phalanges visible. Spider webs stretch across the gaps between the fingers in fine radiating lines, and a small round spider hangs down from one of the web threads on the index finger side. Its not cartoon, its not cute. This one leans into the horror angle properly.
Single colour, all black, density 387. The bone work has enough shading built into the fill direction to show the cylindrical shape of each finger segment without needing a second colour. Smallest is 4.5 inches wide, largest is 7.5 inches. Stitch counts run from 6,361 to 11,879 across the 4 sizes, so even the full size is relatively quick to run. my workhorse software set the underlay routes on the finger sections specifically to stop the dense black fill from pulling on a tearaway.
So if youre looking for something that works for older kids or adults rather than the kawaii Halloween crowd this is the one. A customer who makes dark-aesthetic clothing for teens told me this sold out her first batch at a punk market in under an hour. Pair it with a tearaway stabiliser at any size, the ground weight is light enough that cutaway isnt necessary unless youre on something very stretchy.
Best on black denim, dark grey canvas, or a heavy cotton twill. On black fabric use white or bone thread for a negative-space version that looks genuinely unsettling. Avoid thin fabrics, the hand has enough coverage that it can distort lighter weaves without proper backing.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Adult Halloween costume accessories and patchesBack with a firm cutaway and sew onto a black denim jacket shoulder for a subtle but recognisable gothic detail.
- Dark aesthetic clothing and denim jacketsAt 7.5 inches on a dark canvas tote this is large enough to be the whole design statement without anything else added.
- Halloween party tote bags and backpacksOn a black felt patch at 5 inches it looks clean enough to sell at any punk or alternative market without explanation.
- Spooky home decor pillows for teensCentred on a throw pillow cover in dark charcoal fabric this leans more decor than costume, which some customers prefer.
- Punk and goth craft market stock itemsAt the 4.5 inch size this fits on the back pocket of adult jeans for a detail that reads in passing without being overwhelming.
- Halloween escape room and event merchandiseFor escape room merchandise or haunted house events the horror register of this design is exactly right.
- Personalised horror-themed gift pouchesRun it in white or bone thread on a black canvas gift pouch for a version that looks printed rather than stitched.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
