Skeleton hands, both of them, positioned so the fingers and thumbs come together and form a proper heart shape in the space between them. The design is vertical, taller than it is wide, so the heart reads clearly from a distance. Detailed knuckle joints and finger bone segments give it an anatomy-room quality but its not gruesome, just precise. Single colour, clean, and kind of piece that changes character completely depending on thread and fabric choice.

Stitch count goes from 6,313 on the 1.91 inch wide size to 12,974 on the 4.08 inch. Five sizes, built in digitising tools. The satin column stitching on the finger outlines needs firm cutaway under any stretch fabric to keep the narrow bone shapes from distorting. On woven cotton the cutaway is still worth using on this one, the density through the hand section is high enough that tearaway can pull away from the satin sections before you finish the run.

In terms of placement this one works perfectly as a left chest design or centred on the front of a shirt. My customers have been ordering it for couple matching projects all year, not just halloween. One customer sent me a photo last February of 2 black valentines day tees she'd made, one with each hand in red thread, the pair forming the heart across both shirts when they stood together. That genuinely suprised me but honestly its one of the most clever uses Ive seen. Stitch in red on black for maximum drama, or white on black for a gothic cleaner version.

Pick a plain fabric, the hand detail gets lost on anything printed or textured.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Halloween couple matching shirts with one hand on each shirtSplit the design across 2 matching black shirts, one hand per shirt, so the couple forms the heart together.
  • Gothic valentines day t-shirts and personalised romantic giftsStitch in red thread on black cotton for a bold gothic valentines day shirt on February 14th.
  • Left chest embroidery on hoodies and sweatshirts for spooky seasonLeft chest on a hooded sweatshirt in the 3 inch size works well for most adult hoodie chest proportions.
  • Embroidered patches on denim jackets and canvas bagsStitch on canvas or thick cotton twill, cut and apply fusible web backing to make an iron-on patch.
  • Framed hoop art for gothic aesthetic home decorThe 4 inch version on a 10-inch cotton hoop in black thread makes a clean framed wall piece.
  • Halloween party themed tote bags and drawstring bagsOn a cream canvas drawstring bag stitch the 3.5 inch version in black for a halloween party favour bag.
  • Kids halloween costume accessories using the smaller sizesUse the 1.91 inch smallest size on a kids shirt chest in orange or white thread on black cotton.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
