Its a cat done entirely in one continuous-looking sketch line. The line follows the whole body outline and suggests a sitting cat with a slightly tilted head, pointed ears, and that classic tucked paw at the bottom. The stroke has a bit of natural wobble to it, like someone drew it quickly in pen without lifting the nib, which is what gives it that hand-made quality instead of a stiff digital outline.

Only 1 colour needed, no thread changes at all. The lines run as a narrow satin column which gives them a slight raised texture you can feel with your finger. Stitch count is light for this shop, 9k at a chest 3.5 size and only 15k at the 7 inch max. Lightweight design. Simple. Clean. Fast to stitch even on a basic home machine.

Eight sizes from 3.5 to 7 inches. I had a customer last week who stitched the 6 inch version in terracotta thread on a cream linen tote and sent her photo. Honestly I was suprised how good it looked, the sketchy line reads really clearly on the natural fabric. She said every cat person who saw it asked where she got it. Go figure. Use it as a single statement motif or repeat smaller sizes across a grid for a scarf or cushion pattern.

Best on woven fabrics, cotton, linen, canvas, chambray. Tearaway stabiliser works fine here since the stitch density is low. Avoid rough textures like terry or fleece where the fine line details can disappear into the pile. Skip heavy slubby fabrics too. Stitch at normal speed, no special tricks needed. One colour. Done. Thats kinda the appeal. Im a fan. Heres my pick, terracotta on cream linen wins. Youll see why. Dont overthink it.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Cat lover canvas tote bagsOn a cream or natural canvas tote in black thread it looks like a boutique illustrated piece that cat lovers immediately want.
  • Fashion tees and tanksThe 5 inch version on a plain white tee in charcoal thread is the kind of casual art-shirt people wear on a Saturday.
  • Framed line art wall hoopsStitched on cream linen and framed in a 6 inch natural wood hoop it reads as wall art rather than a craft project.
  • Linen tea towelsOne or two cats stitched in a corner of a linen tea towel adds a subtle handmade quality to an everyday kitchen item.
  • Denim jacket breast pocketsA smaller size on the breast pocket of a denim jacket is just enough detail to make the jacket feel personalised.
  • Cat themed stationery pouchesOn a plain cotton or canvas pencil case or zip pouch it makes a quiet but recognisable cat-lover gift.
  • Minimal home goods fabric panelsRepeat the smallest size in a grid pattern on fabric yardage or a pillow panel for a modern minimal repeat-print feel.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
