This is the sleeping baby elephant on dove grey and its tucked up tight. Eyes shut. Tiny trunk wrapped snug along the body. Pale pink showing inside the one visible ear. The whole pose reads like a newborn napping which is exactly what I was after. Soft cartoon style, no harsh outlines, just gentle shading and a single white sparkle on the cheek.

Eight colours work this design. Dove grey carries the body fill in two tones for shadow and highlight. Pale pink does the ear interior and a soft cheek blush. Charcoal handles the closed eye and the lash hairs. White brings the sparkle highlight that gives the cheek that suprised baby chubbiness. Nothing busy, nothing loud, the whole thing reads as calm.

I made this one specifically with nursery decor and baby shower gifts in mind. Folks been buying it for hoop art aswell. One mum wrote me last month, she stitched the 6-inch on cream muslin for her sisters baby shower and clipped it inside a wooden hoop with twine for hanging. Stitch on soft cotton or muslin for cleanest read. Pop a 4-inch on a baby onesie or burp cloth. Try a 5-inch on a swaddle blanket corner. Skip dark fabric here cos the dove grey wont read. Best results on cream, white, dusty pink, mint, or pale yellow ground fabrics. Skip patterned cloth too, the soft palette needs space and a print fights it.

Density runs light to medium. Smallest 3.5-inch is only 10k stitches and the 7-in max tops out at 26k with 8 colour changes.
