Its a sleeping moon, crescent shape in yellow, eyes closed, little smile on its face, tucked onto a white cloud like its actually napping. Orange highlights at the tips, blue accent stripe details on the moon body itself. Three separate five-pointed stars float around it, one top left and two to the right, and theyre proper chubby stars, not stick-figure ones. The whole thing has that classic nursery-mobile feel but stitched into fabric its way more of a keepsake.

12 colors and 12 color changes, thats what gives the moon all its shading. The body has grey tones, two yellows, blue accents and the orange tips all cycling through. Stitch count starts at 9,771 on the 3.20-inch-wide smallest size and climbs to 26,214 on the 7.50-inch version. 48 trims on size 3, 50 on size 4. my software digitised it. People who order this one often come back to say the shading on the moon surprised them, it reads a lot more dimensional in thread than it looks in the preview. Had a customer this month say it was the best thing they'd stitched all year.

Hoop a medium cutaway stabiliser under your fabric, 12 color changes at density 511 needs something that wont shift around. Tiny version sits at 3.5 inches wide and lands perfectly on a pajama top chest. Use the 7-in cap for a throw pillow cover. Stitch slowly through the first 3 color changes while the design is still finding its registration.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Nursery throw pillow in a moon-and-stars themed roomAt the 7.5 inch size this fills a throw pillow cover beautifully -- the 12 colors mean it looks professionally done, not hobbyist.
  • Baby gift hamper item -- stitched muslin blanket or swaddleA muslin swaddle with this at a corner is one of those gifts people keep long after the baby's grown out of it.
  • Hoop art for a gender-neutral nursery wall displayGender-neutral yellows and whites make this a safe choice for any nursery color scheme without feeling generic.
  • Kids pajama top chest placement for bedtime themingChest placement on pajamas in the 3.5 inch size is exactly right -- visible when the kid is standing, not lost in folds.
  • Custom baby shower gift bags with name added alongsideLeave a little space next to the moon and stitch a name in a coordinating font for a personalised shower gift.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
