7 colours, the unicorn is curled up tight with its legs tucked under, head rested down, eyes shut. Asleep. The mane flows from the top of the head back around and merges with the tail, so the rainbow colours sort of wrap the whole body in a swoop. Its a proper sleeping pose, genuinely relaxed, not just a standing unicorn with its eyes drawn closed. The smooth satin body sections hold the cream white colour cleanly and the horn sits at a gentle tilt in warm gold.

Seven colours in the design and theres alot happening with those mane stripes. Pink, yellow, mint, lavender, peach, they run in thin parallel bands through both the mane and the flowing tail. Stitch count runs from 7571 on the 3-in size reaching 15732 on the largest, so if you want the rainbow detail to really read you need the bigger sizes. Five sizes, widths from 3.22 to 6.89 inches. If you want crisp colour stripes use at least the 5-inch on a home machine.

Last week I got a really nice note from a customer who put a 6-in chest on a girls birthday fleece blanket. Seven colour changes, she said it came out suprisingly fast, maybe 18 minutes total. She used pale pink fleece and the white unicorn body looked perfect against it. Thats exactly the kind of project I had in mind when I made this.

Hoop with a cutaway stabiliser under fleece or jersey, the satin-fill sections on the mane need proper backing or theyll pucker. Use topping on terry cloth or fluffy fleece so the stitches dont sink. Try at least a 5-inch hoop for clean stripe detail. Text me through the shop if one of the mane bands is reading flat and Ill swap the colour for a richer red.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
