This lil sloth is just hanging on a branch, eyes squeezed shut, smiling like it hasnt got a single care. Arms wrapped right round the branch, feet dangling down. Two fresh green leaves branch off either side, giving it that jungle-nap feeling. The fur is multi-tonal brown, going from warm tan on the outer edges to darker rust in the deeper sections, with a lighter cream patch across the belly. Round pink cheeks. Tiny black nose. Sixteen colours all up, which is why the texture looks the way it does.

At 63k stitches on the largest 7.5 the density here is real, theres a lot of layered fur direction changes that build up the plush effect. The underlay has to support that density so digitising tools did the heavy lifting on sequencing. The fur direction on the back and arms changes angle per section so each area catches the light differently when stitched. Its a design where people actually run a finger over the stitched-out version because it genuinely feels textured.

My kids room is basically the reason I made this. My daughter asked for a sloth everything phase she went through last year and I stitched this on a fleece onesie for her and she wore it till it fell apart. Since then I get messages from parents, nursery teachers, and honestly alot of adults who just love sloths. The 5-inch is my favourite size for kids hoodies.

Use cutaway stabiliser for fleece, terry or jersey fabrics, the stitch count demands it. On cotton canvas a firm tearaway works fine. Reduce machine speed on the belly section where density peaks. Pop it on olive, white, cream or sage for best colour separation. Hoop extra firm, any slippage on that fur-direction stitching and youll get uneven coverage.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Kids fleece hoodies and onesiesStitch the 5-inch on a sage green kids hoodie chest and the sloth just sits there looking perfectly content.
  • Nursery wall hoops above cotsHoop the 6-inch in a natural wood frame and hang above a nursery cot for a woodland-themed baby room.
  • Baby shower gift itemsPop the 4-inch on a cream baby bodysuit for a baby shower gift, 16 colours means it looks genuinely detailed.
  • Sloth-themed birthday party teesUse the 5-inch on a white birthday tee for a sloth-obsessed kid, pair with confetti balloons for photos.
  • Childrens backpacks and school bagsStitch the 4-inch on a canvas school backpack pocket panel, it handles the bag-wear well with cutaway backing.
  • Plush toy decoration and patchesAdd the smallest version as an applique patch detail on a plush sloth soft toy for extra character.
  • Cotton sweatshirts for sloth fan adultsEmbroider on a grey or cream adult sweatshirt for a grown-up sloth fan who wears their personality on their chest.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
