Its just the word smile in a loose hand-lettered script, the kind of lettering you see chalked up in a coffee shop window. Letters connect, loops stay open, and the whole thing has that slightly imperfect quality that makes hand-lettering feel warm instead of corporate. The descenders on the S and E swing out generously and give the word a relaxed bounce.

2 colours total, and honestly most people just run it in one. The satin column runs are thin and tidy with a light underlay that keeps the letterforms from sinking into the fabric. Density is very light at 252, and even the big 5.06-inch size only hits 9,570 stitches. That means its quick, clean, and forgiving on most machines without needing a heavy stabiliser setup.

Simple lettering designs like this one move all year. I get messages regularly from people who want a quick low-stitch-count word design they can run back-to-back without the machine overheating. Someone last spring ordered it in butter yellow on a pale blue baby blanket and sent photos, it looked softer than I expected. Also popular for tote bag batches where you want a consistent look without the design being too complicated to repeat. Nine sizes from 2.37 up to 5.06 inches give you alot of placement flexibility.

Swap the thread colour to match your project. Black on white is the classic. Coral on cream is sweet. Navys clean on natural linen, theres also burgundy as an option. Use a tear-away stabiliser on woven fabrics or a light cutaway on soft jersey. Skip topping film unless youre on a high-pile terry or fleece.

Hoop with the lettering running vertically since the design is taller than wide at all 9 sizes. Centre carefully before you commit and do a quick placement stitch first if its going on a pocket or collar. Light density also means light bobbin usage too, so you can run a decent batch before you need to re-wind.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
