Three spiders on a web and its the kind of image where people either love it immediately or back away from the screen. The spiders themselves arent cartoons, theyre done with proper hairy legs, each leg has individual spine-like satin details coming off the main limb. The bodies have a tight circular underlay that reads like the abdomen markings on a real spider. That abdomen on the big centre one is probably 40 or 50 individual stitches across, which is what gives it the roundness.

The web itself is all running stitch lines, radiating outward from a shared centre point like a real orb web would sit. Fine gauge, low density at 299, so the web sections stitch fast and dont pucker the fabric. The design is basically 2 colours but the jump stitch paths and directional stitching changes give it alot more visual texture than a simple 2-colour piece usually has. I been digitising spider designs since halloween started becoming a year-round decor thing and this one gets ordered way more in october than any other month, obviously. But I also sell it to gothic home decor shops who stock it alongside skull and bat designs.

Stitch this on black fabric and it disappears into the background in a good way, only the mid-grey outlines keep it visible. Or try white cotton and the black reads strong like a graphic print. Avoid dark navy or charcoal, the contrast gets muddy. Pop a small 3.5-in chest on a costume glove cuff or a cap, send me message if you want advice on the right stabiliser for that application. Use tearaway on woven cotton, cutaway on any stretch fabric. The centre spider body has dense satin fill so hoop firmly and ease the machine speed down for that section.

Five sizes from 3.46 inches square up to 7.42 inches, and the stitch count stays manageable across the range, 8,627 stitches at the smallest to 16,658 at the largest. Nothing here thats gonna choke a home machine.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Halloween costume accessories and capesStitch the 3.5-inch on a black velvet cape or costume shoulder panel for a halloween party costume that looks hand-finished.
  • Gothic home decor cushion coversEmbroider the 5.5-inch on a charcoal linen cushion cover for a gothic living room that keeps halloween decor up year-round.
  • Trick-or-treat tote bags and fabric pailsPop the medium size on a black cotton drawstring bag for a trick-or-treat sack that kids will actually want to carry.
  • Black hat and cap embellishmentsUse the small 3.46-inch on a plain black cap for a subtle halloween look that works in an office on the day.
  • Halloween shop aprons and staff uniformStitch on black cotton aprons for halloween shop staff, add a pumpkin design on the other side for a matched pair.
  • Framed hoop wall art for gothic roomsHoop the 7.42-inch in a 9-inch frame, mount on black card and hang it as wall art in a gothic-themed bedroom.
  • Seasonal table runner border elementsRun three repeats of the small size along the hem of a white cotton table runner as a halloween dinner table border.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
