Sometimes the simplest designs are the ones people reach for most. Two colours, 2,019 stitches, density of just 30, this spider web is almost all running stitch and single-pass lines, which is what gives it that spidery open-web look rather than a solid filled shape. Ive digitised it in professional embroidery software with the web lines running outward from a single origin point, so the radiating spokes stay even and the concentric rings are consistent all the way to the outer edge.

Because the density is so low, dont overload this with a heavy stabiliser. A light tearaway is all you need on stable woven fabrics, cotton, linen, canvas. Use a cutaway only if your base fabric has stretch. And skip the topping, its not needed here, the open running lines dont need a smooth surface to lay flat the way satin fills do. Pick a fabric where your thread colour contrasts well, black web on cream, ivory or white is classic, but I've also seen this done in white thread on black velvet and it looks genuinely gothic.

A customer wrote me a few weeks ago, she was making halloween napkins for a dinner party and needed something fast, said she stitched this on twelve cotton napkins in an afternoon. That tracks, 2,019 stitches per run means this completes quickly. One design. Done.

Stitch it in a corner of a napkin, on a collar, on a hat brim, or scattered across a table runner. The compact 2.97-inch width fits almost anywhere. The low stitch count makes it practical for large-batch projects like sets of napkins, towels or treat bags where you need a quick but clean result without sitting at the machine for hours.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Halloween napkin corner embroideryDinner napkin corner for a halloween party, twelve of them stitched in an afternoon, one customer confirmed that timeline.
  • Collar or neckline spooky accentShirt collar point for an adult who wants a halloween detail thats barely there unless you look for it.
  • Hat brim halloween detail stitchPocket square in crisp cream cotton for a halloween event where the dress code is smart-casual with a spooky edge.
  • Treat bag scattered web patternTable runner repeating web pattern, space them 8 inches apart, the open density keeps the linen flat between placements.
  • Table runner repeating web motifOxford shirt cuff for a subtle halloween nod at a formal work event where a full costume isnt appropriate.
  • Pocket square minimalist gothic detailDog bandana point where the radial web shape fills the triangular space elegantly.
  • Pillowcase scattered accent motifPillowcase scatter pattern, hoop each placement separately, the open running lines stay delicate and dont stiffen the fabric.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
