Splashing cat, 9 colours, and one of the taller designs in the collection, the proportions go from 1.69 to 3.62 inches wide but spans from 3.5 inches up to 7.5 tall, so its a portrait-orientation build. The cat is mid-step into shallow water, paws just hitting the surface, water droplets radiating outward in spray lines. Tabby orange body, cream white chest, pale blue water at the base, sky blue splash lines flying up. Stitch count runs 11,369 on the smallest up to 25,771 at the biggest size 7.5 height.

Density is 949, which is firm enough that the orange tabby fills have real depth on lighter fabrics. I tried the 5-inch run on a white cotton tea towel last spring and a customer who bought it said it was the first embroidery design that made her actually laugh when she opened the file. Pop a tearaway behind woven fabrics like cotton twill or linen. For stretchy cat-themed t-shirts or jersey, swap to cutaway and hoop with extra margin so the tall portrait doesnt distort at the edges.

Mapped in the software I use, the water splash lines are done in short satin runs that keep the radiating direction consistent from the base up. Hoop snug, a tall design on jersey will drift at the top if the backer isnt pulled flat. Add topping on terry or fleece. Best on white, pale yellow, or light grey backgrounds; the tabby orange reads great on most light colours but not on anything warm-toned. Stitch on cat-themed kitchen items, kids shirts, pet lover totes, or any project going to a feline fan.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Cat-themed kitchen tea towels and oven mittsStitch the 5-inch on a white cotton tea towel -- the tall portrait sits perfectly along the towel border.
  • Kids t-shirts and cat lover apparelRun the 4-inch on a kids long-sleeve tee for a cat lover who wants something fun rather than cute.
  • Pet owner gift bags and tote bagsUse the small 3.5-inch on a zipper pouch or coin purse for a compact cat gift under a few dollars.
  • Funny cat cushion covers for cat ownersThe 7-inch version on a linen cushion centred on a cat owners sofa is genuinely funny and gets comments.
  • Custom kitten portrait alternatives for giftsCat cafes can use the 4-inch on staff aprons or branded tote bags for a light-hearted logo alternative.
  • Cat cafe branded merchandise and uniformsPut it on a canvas bag with a name added below -- instant personalised gift for any cat person.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
