Spooky season. Those two words have been typed into my shop search a bunch of times in the last few years and I knew I needed a ghost to go with em. This lil ghost is 7,932 stitches, just 2 colours, and sits at 2.95 inches wide by 3.5 tall. Simple, fast to stitch, done in one hoop session.

The density is 119, on the lighter side, which is actually intentional. A heavier density on white satin fill tends to look stiff and a bit plasticky on fabric, but at 119 it stays soft and the underlay keeps the ghost shape clean without puckering. Use a lightweight tearaway stabiliser on most fabrics, or a cutaway if youre going on a stretchy base like a knit beanie.

3 colour stops, wait, only 2. That means one thread change max. Nice. Drop it on a childs tote or a halloween-themed tea towel and youre done. Ive had customers use it on white cotton pillowcases aswell where the ghost blends into the base fabric and only the outline shows, looks alot more interesting than you'd expect.

Digitised in my main software so the sequencing is clean. Works on cotton, felt, canvas, fleece. Ping me if theres a problem with the file and Ill sort it. Drop a chat message if the punch needs tweaking and Ill update it.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Left chest halloween t-shirt embroideryLeft chest placement 4 inches below neckline, lightweight tearaway on cotton, thread in white with black outline for maximum contrast.
  • Kids trick-or-treat tote bagNatural canvas tote, tearaway stabiliser, centred on front panel, 2.95x3.5 hoop, reads well from a distance.
  • Halloween-themed tea towel centreWhite or grey cotton tea towel, tearaway backing, place in centre panel, low density keeps drape natural after stitching.
  • Beanie hat front panel ghostKnit beanie, use cutaway stabiliser and topping film for clean satin on the stretchy surface, front panel centred placement.
  • Cotton pillowcase seasonal accentCotton percale pillowcase, white thread on white base lets only the outline show, use light tearaway, back with fusible if needed.
  • Felt ornament or gift tagStitch on white or orange felt, trim to a 4-inch circle, attach ribbon loop for ornament or tag, no backing needed on thick felt.
  • Sweatshirt sleeve ghost motifSleeve placement 2 inches above cuff on fleece sweatshirt, medium cutaway stabiliser, ghost sits well at this small footprint.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
