Theres a witch standing front and centre here, full silhouette, pointed hat and all, with a spider web filling in the background behind her and a fat round pumpkin sitting at her feet. The whole thing is done as a single black thread fill so the scene reads like a halloween window sticker, very graphic and clean. No fussy thread swaps, just load once and stitch.
I built this one in my workhorse software and the underlay work was mostly about keeping those silhouette edges crisp. At 3.5 inches the smallest size still holds all the detail, the pumpkin segments and the web structure dont collapse into each other. Ping me if youre getting any density issues at the small end, its sometimes a tension thing rather than the file. Press a soft cutaway underneath and back it with a light topping if youre working on fleece or terry cloth so the stitches dont sink.
One customer ordered this last halloween for a batch of treat bags she was sewing for her daughters class. She Ping-ed me after to say the kids loved the witch and asked if I had more single-colour halloween designs. Its that kind of design, not trying to do too much but gets the point across immediately. Black thread on natural cotton or cream canvas is my favourite way to stitch it.
On the full 7-in hoop you get close to 19,966 stitches and the density is 393 which is medium weight, so you can put this on most woven fabrics without buckling. Skip anything with a lot of stretch, the silhouette fill will warp. Run this on black denim for a really bold result, the fill sits slightly raised and catches the light on the web section.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Halloween tote bags and trick-or-treat carriersCentre the 7.5 inch version on a canvas tote for a bold halloween night bag that reads from across the room.
- Seasonal throw pillow covers in black and whiteStitch on cream linen pillow covers, the black silhouette pops hard against natural fabric colours.
- Kids halloween party favour bagsUse the 3.5 inch size on small cotton muslin bags for a quick run of class party favours.
- Cotton aprons for halloween dinner partiesThe single thread colour means you can get through 10 aprons in a session without any colour change stops.
- Zip pouches and clutch bags with seasonal motifsAt 4 to 5 inches this centres perfectly on the front panel of a zip pouch without crowding the zip.
- Black or cream sweatshirt chest placementPlace on the left chest at 3.5 inches or run the 5 inch across the belly of a hooded sweatshirt.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
