The crescent moon and a little star sitting together, the classic nursery pair. The moon is a smooth wide crescent with a soft rounded form, no sharp points, and the companion sits right there beside it. 6 colours give it real depth, with the gold tones on the moon shading from bright to warm amber at the edges while the five-pointer picks up ice blue or pale lavender.

I dont usually do nursery themes but I put this one together after my customers kept asking, specifically ones doing baby shower gifts and new mum presents. Smallest is 3.24 inches wide, largest goes to 6.93 inches, so theres a good range for different project scales.

Stitch count goes from about 18,800 up to 32,545 for the biggest size. Not as heavy as some of the wildlife designs but dense enough that you want a proper stabiliser. Use cutaway on any jersey or stretchy fabric, the satin crescent sections need a firm backing or youll get pull distortion.

Cream, white or soft lavender fabric works best, the pale tones let the gold and blue read cleanly. Skip dark fabric for this one, the colour palette isnt built for contrast against dark backgrounds. Hoop tight, stitch the crescent first, then the accent shapes, then the detail shading layers.

One customer used this on a set of 6 cotton muslin swaddles last february for a baby gift set and said they sold out before she even finished the batch.Email me if you need a different size and Ill help.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
