She ordered this for her husband's 4th of july shirt last summer, wanted something patriotic but not the serious eagle type, something with a bit of personality. This is that design. Aviator sunglasses sit across the top, the lenses filled with the american flag, stars on the left lens and stripes across the right. Firework bursts scatter up the left side in red and black accent stars floating between them. Below that the word STAR comes in big dark blue varsity block letters, then spangled drops in a red cursive script, and STUD lands at the bottom in the same heavy blue varsity caps. Four colours all up: dark blue, white, red, black.

Tape the backing behind the garment before hooping, this design runs 21,690 stitches at the chest baseline up to 37,886 at the largest, and with 87 trims across 4 colour stops you want a stable setup from the start or things shift. The density sits at 736 which means the satin fills are packed tight, thats good for durability on shirt fronts that get washed repeatedly. Hoop on firm cotton, twill, or denim. Skip thin jersey without a cutaway underneath or the firework sections'll pull.

Four sizes: 5 inch at 21,690 stitches, largest at 6.4 inches wide runs 37,886 stitches. Most people put the 5-inch on a shirt front and the 6-inch on a canvas tote or a flat-brim hat back panel. The lettering holds at both sizes, but dont go smaller than 5 inches or the script spangled starts getting tight and may need a topping on dark fabrics. Three colour changes total across the 4 thread stops so plan your thread order as dark blue first, white second, red third, then black last, and youre set.

Good for mens shirts, kids 4th of july tees, matching family sets where one person gets the stud design and the rest get something in the same colour palette. Works for memorial day and flag day too, its not just a July piece. Give it a big blank canvas and it'll look right.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
