Tall bird, long orange beak, those impossibly skinny legs. This stork has 11 colours in the build, which sounds like alot for a bird this simple-looking but its because the feather shading uses several passes of white and light grey with soft pink blush underneath the wings. Density came in at 387, quite low by my usual standards, which actually works in your favour here because the light stitching catches the fabric texture and makes those pale feathers look more natural than a dense satin fill would.
Stitch range spans 7,707 at the smallest 3.49-inch size to 21,762 on the full 7.49-inch tall version. Im a bit biased but I think the bigger sizes are where this one really works. A customer who bought it last winter ran the 6-inch on a white muslin swaddle for a baby shower gift and sent me a message saying it was the nicest thing shed made in months. That made my week honestly. digitising tools drove the underlay on this one, and the narrow leg sections have a tight column satin that holds together even on lightweight cotton without cutaway behind it, but Id still use a soft backer on anything stretchy.
Pop a tearaway behind woven cotton or a muslin background. Pop a soft cutaway behind jersey or any knit base fabric. Nine sizes across a 3.49 to 7.49-inch width range means it fits comfortably in 4x4 through 8x8 hoops. Hoop it square with the beak pointing left or right depending on your placement preference. Stitch the small version on a bib corner or onesie chest.
Skip dark backgrounds for this one, the white plumage needs light fabric to read clearly. Lay wash-away topping over towelling or terry cloth so the open stitching doesnt drop into the loops. Send me a note through the shop if the stitch-out looks off and Ill check the file for you.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Baby shower gift items and keepsakesThe pale palette suits white or cream baby shower items perfectly, looks precious on gift wrapping cloth.
- Newborn onesies and bodysuitsThe 3.49-inch size drops onto a onesie chest without overlapping the snap area, nice and clean.
- Muslin swaddle blanket corner detailCorner placement on a folded muslin swaddle at the 5-inch size becomes a keepsake-quality gift.
- Nursery room wall hoop artHooped and mounted in a 7-inch cream frame the stork makes a sweet nursery wall piece.
- Baby bibs and burp clothsBib front stitching with the 4-inch size keeps the design within the visible area without riding onto the neck band.
- Kids room cushion coverThe full 7.49-inch tall stork centred on a cushion cover reads as charming decor even outside a nursery.
- Birth announcement keepsake clothStitch the date and initials beside the stork on a square of linen for a birth keepsake cloth.
- Small pouches and gift bagsThe smaller 3.5-inch version fits on a drawstring pouch front for baby shower favour bags.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
