Pulled this together after a customer wanted something simple for birthday pillow covers back in january, theres not alot going on here and thats entirely the point. Classic cone hat shape, horizontal stripes in pink, mint and yellow running across the body, little gold pom-pom sitting right on top. Two thread colours, 379 density, clean satin fill on the stripes so they actually look like stripes and dont bleed into each other.

Five sizes from 2.51 inches wide up to 6.51 inches wide, stitch counts from 2,810 at the bottom end to 10,508 at the top. Run it on a medium cutaway stabiliser and you wont get pull distortion on the hat brim. Stitch the large 6-in on a cream throw pillow for that instant birthday-room look. Add the 2.5-inch to a kids party bag or favour pouch for a fast batch project. Pair it with a matching balloon file if you want a full party set on a pillow or tee. Skip polyester satin fabric, the stripe sections need a bit of texture to hold the satin fill properly.

Ping me if you want the colours adjusted, I can digitise a version with different stripe colours for a specific party theme, just takes me a day or two. The pillow version with pink and mint on linen is the one I see turn up in photos most often, realy looks good against that natural texture.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Birthday throw pillow and cushion coversThe 6-inch version sits perfectly on a standard cream throw pillow with pastel stripe colours that work for any gender-neutral birthday party.
  • Party hat-shaped felt ornaments and decorationsCut felt into a hat shape before hooping, stitch the 3-inch version, and you have a flat ornament that hangs on a garland.
  • Kids birthday outfit chest patchStitch the 2.5-inch version centre-chest on a plain tee -- it stitches out in under 10 minutes and reads as intentional, not cheap.
  • Birthday party tote bags and canvas pouchesThe 4-inch version on the front of a canvas tote is a solid favours bag option that looks more considered than printed versions.
  • Celebration banner and pennant appliqueStitch multiples across a ribbon of felt in alternating orientations for a quick birthday party bunting that doesnt need sewing skills to assemble.
  • Gift wrap fabric and reusable bag decoratingHooped onto a square of cotton muslin and then wrapped around a gift box like a handkerchief -- the hat reads from across a room.
  • Scrapbooking hoop art and framed piecesMount the smallest size in a 3x3 hoop frame with kraft mat and give it as a handmade birthday card alternative that wont end up in recycling.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
