The sun moon celestial is one of my more minimalist designs in terms of colour, just 3 colours, and it still has alot of presence. The sun face sits at the centre with radiating rays spreading outward, a crescent moon arcs around one side and small star details fill the outer edges. Its the classic celestial symbol but done with proper line weight and a decorative face that gives it character.
Three threads to load: warm gold for the sun body and rays, a softer cream for the crescent body, dark navy for the outline and the facial features. The rays are done with satin columns rather than flat tatami fill so they catch light and have that slightly raised look, it makes the whole design feel more premium on the hoop. Stitch count goes up to 41,418 on the largest size, comfortable for most machines.
I started getting more orders for this one around the time boho decor was really taking off, people were looking for celestial art that didnt feel like clip art. A customer last winter send me message asking if she could commission a matching set of celestial designs and I pointed her to a few other options in my shop. She ended up ordering five designs for a whole wall gallery she was planning.
Nine sizes from 3.21 to 6.87 inches wide. Use a medium tearaway stabiliser on cotton or linen, cutaway on knit fabric. Stitch on cream cotton, black canvas or navy linen for the most striking result. Avoid white-on-white combinations since the moon will disappear into the background. Thats kinda the main rule. Heres my pick, navy linen wins. Im sure youll love it. Dont skip the topping.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
