Heres the Sun Sand Surf design done in that stacked retro vacation poster style. SUN sits up top in mustard yellow, SURF cuts the middle in teal, and SAND anchors the bottom in a warm sandy brown. Two black palm tree silhouettes lean over the centre word so the whole thing reads like a faded postcard from 1978.

Each letter is a fully stitched fill so the colour really shows up on fabric, you arent just getting an outline. Alot of summer typography designs use thin script and they look fine on paper but kinda dissapear on a tee. I digitised this one to actually pop on cotton.

Runs in 4 thread colours total. Honestly im suprised how much character those two palm silhouettes add, they give the design depth that pure typography wouldnt have. The overlap with the teal SURF letters is the bit that sells it.

Last summer one customer ordered the 6 inch hoop size for a beach house housewarming and stitched a full set of mustard tea towels with it. Works on summer tees, beach totes, pool bags, kids cover-ups, anything you would wear to the coast. People have been stitching it on the back yoke of denim jackets aswell which looks killer in person.

Stitch on light cotton or sand canvas, the mustard and teal really sing against natural tones. Add cutaway behind knits and slow your machine down on the palm silhouette rows since the black goes dense. Skip dark navy or charcoal here because the brown SAND letters get lost. Top size is 7.51 inches so it fits a standard 5x7 hoop. Forward image if a test stitch reads off on test stitch.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Summer t-shirtsThe stacked block letters read clearly across a chest print and the palette suits warm summer cotton.
  • Beach tote bagsGoes great centred on a black gym tote and the colour blocks stitch up vivid on a beige base.
  • Pool bags and cover-upsCoordinated set looks fun for a family beach day and the design holds up to wash and chlorine fade.
  • Kids vacation outfitsKids cover-ups in mustard or teal complement the design colours without fighting them.
  • Denim jacket back yokeBold enough to fill a denim jacket back yoke and the palm silhouettes stand out against indigo.
  • Cap patchesSmaller sizes work as patches on five panel caps if you measure the panel space carefully.
  • Beach house pillowsHoliday house pillows in white linen with this on the front make a sweet beach rental touch.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
