The sun rays on this one dont go straight out, they curl at the tips in a swirl pattern that makes the whole thing feel organic and hand-drawn rather than geometric. Theres 5 sizes from 3.5 to 7.51 inches, and at the largest those curling ray forms have enough room to really read as individual coils rather than just a blurry halo.

Three colours keeps this one focused and fast to load. The sun circle centre uses a layered tatami fill, the curling ray sections run in satin columns following the curve of each arm, and the third colour handles outline details or a highlight in the face. Stitch count goes from 18,068 on the smallest up to 42,647 on the full 7.5 inch version. For just 3 threads thats a surprisingly dense design, occured to me when I checked the PDF that satin work on curves just racks up the count fast.

Honestly I was suprised how popular this became among the home decor crowd. One customer ordered 4 different sizes to stitch on a matching set of wall art hoops, ascending from small to large, and she sent me photos that looked genuinely like something from a boho interiors shop. Wall hoop sets. Great idea.

Use a cutaway stabiliser at the larger sizes, the high density needs solid backing or youll get pull on the curves. Works well on natural linen, cream cotton canvas, cream wool felt, or white twill. Warmer fabric tones like oatmeal or sand suit the mustard and rust palette better than stark white. Stitch on tote bags, pillow covers, wall hoop art, or the front of a wide-brimmed hat.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Boho wall hoop embroidery artThe ascending size set of 3 to 4 hoops works as a boho gallery wall arrangement, each sun slightly larger than the last.
  • Linen tote bag front panelStitch the 5 or 6-in centre on a natural linen tote bag for a boho carry that holds up daily use.
  • Celestial theme pillow coversCentred on a plain linen or cotton pillow cover the sun swirl makes a warm earthy boho bedroom piece.
  • Wide-brimmed hat panelsthe small 4-in on the front panel of a plain wide-brimmed hat is a clean boho accessory detail.
  • Bohemian sweatshirts and teesOn a mustard or cream sweatshirt in rust or white thread it reads as a thoughtful celestial fashion piece.
  • Nursery room decor itemsSmall 3.mid 5-in build on linen nursery cushion or wall hoop works for a boho baby room setup.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
