Sun and waves is my easiest summer design and theres a reason its priced low. Top half is a rising sun with about a dozen long pointed rays shooting up and out from a flat horizon line. Below that sit three thick green wavy bars stacked, reading as the ocean surface catching morning light.
Two colours only. Orange for everything sun related, dark green for the three wave lines, no gradient or shading needed at all. Whole thing reads like a retro 70s surf shop window decal which is honestly the vibe I was going for.
I been making summer designs since last june and a customer messaged me wanting something simple for hotel staff uniforms at a coastal resort. She wanted it small on the left chest, fast to stitch on bulk orders, and obvious from across the pool deck. Sent her this one and she ordered 80 polos in a week.
Five sizes, smallest is 3.5 inch wide for a left chest stitch on tees or polos. Largest fits 7.5 inch across for a tote panel or back of a beach cover up. Stitch count stays low, just 3.7k to 8.8k, so this one wont take long even on bigger sizes.
Stitches cleanly on cotton, linen, jersey tees and lightweight canvas. The flat satin shapes hold up fine on a soft beach towel too. Skip terry cloth above 4 inch because the wavy bars can sink into the loops. Use tearaway under woven cotton and cutaway behind any knit. Keep the hoop snug so the long rays stay straight.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Beach cover up backsBeach cover-up back, the retro 70s shape reads bold from the pool chair without any text needed alongside it.
- Coastal hotel staff polosCoastal hotel staff polo left chest, the simple two-colour design stitches fast on bulk orders and holds through washing.
- Summer camp tshirtsSummer camp tee, the sun and waves graphic earns the shirt its second season of use after camp ends.
- Canvas beach tote panelsCotton beach towel corner, the low stitch count means it finishes quick and the retro postcard feel stays through the wash.
- Surf shop kids teesBoat owner trucker cap, small on the side panel, lets the cap stay casual while still marking the owner as a water person.
- Cotton beach towel cornersResort gift shop linen pillow, the coastal theme ties into the other merchandise without needing a word of copy.
- Boat owner capsGym duffel bag for a swim club member, the sun-and-waves pair reads active and ocean without being a brand logo.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
