This is the kind of sunflower design that actually looks like a sunflower. Full head of petals around a richly textured dark center, a butterfly sitting on the petals like it just landed, and leafy stems curving down and out beneath it. The stems give the design a natural asymmetry thats much more interesting than a stiff symmetrical flower. Warm yellows, golds, and deep centre browns with the butterfly bringing in a contrasting cooler tone. Immediately recognisable, warm, and properly summery.

5 sizes from 3.50 in up to 7.50 in wide, stitch counts go from 20,545 to 54,752. The textured center is where most of those stitches live, its a dense fill that gives the dark seed center that dimensional quality you want from a sunflower. Tearaway stabiliser on firm wovens and washed cotton canvas works well, cutaway on anything with stretch. Density is medium-to-rich on the petals to keep the yellow tones saturated. Run the center section at a slightly reduced speed if your machine allows, the density there benefits from a slower stitch pace.

Garden aprons and summer totes are the obvious choices, this reads immediately as a summer piece. A customer of mine stitched the largest size onto the bib panel of a linen apron and it was genuinely one of the nicest things I've seen done with a sunflower design, the linen texture added something the design itself doesnt do in isolation. Left chest on a summer blouse or lightweight jacket also works really well at the middle sizes. The butterfly detail is a nice conversation starter when worn as a garment piece.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
