The sunflower head is drawn at a slight three-quarter angle, not perfectly flat face-on, so the petals splay out and overlap a bit on one side giving it a real painted illustration feel. Burnt orange and amber petals radiate out from a dark brown seed centre with those little zigzag texture marks across it. The stem curves and loops around at the base in a decorative spiral, two big leathery leaves coming off it with white vein lines. Then theres the bee, hovering just off to the right at about the same height as the flower, black and amber stripes on its body, wings in a pale translucent grey stitch.

8 colours total: burnt orange, amber, dark brown, two shades of forest green, pale grey for the wing area, black and a very dark almost-black brown for the insect stripes. Smallest hits 10,115 stitches and the big 7.5-inch comes in at 26,587. Digitised with proper directional stitching on the petals, each one has the angle following from the centre outward which is what makes it look like an actual petal rather than a flat orange patch.

Im getting orders for this one from people doing cottagecore kitchen pieces, summer aprons, farmhouse-style tote bags. One customer stitched the 5.5-inch on a natural linen apron last august and posted a pic, it looked like it came from a proper boutique. The spiral vine stem gives it that lil extra something compared to a plain straight-stemmed flower.

Best on oatmeal, cream, white or natural linen where the warm orange tones read fully. Pair tearaway with the thicker canvas and apron fabric, tearaway on lighter cotton or linen. Hoop snug, the fine satin stripe detail on the insect body needs a stable base. Pick steady bobbin tension for the translucent wing stitching, the pale grey thread is light and uneven tension shows fast.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
