The girl is drawn as a side profile, just her face and the long swooping line of hair falling down one side. No heavy fills on the face, just clean satin outlines tracing the nose, lips and chin. Shes wearing a wide brim sunhat with a black band, and right at the top of the hat theres a big full sunflower head in gold and brown. A smaller bunch of 3 sunflowers sits near her hand at the bottom, stems in forest green. Red lips pop against the otherwise black and gold palette.

This is very much a line-art design and the stitching shows that. Black satin columns do the hair, the hat brim, the flower outlines. The sunflower petals are what give it colour, that warm golden-orange against all the black linework. Low stitch count too, 10,743 at the small end and 23,610 at the top 7.5-inch size, so it stitches fast and doesnt sit stiff on the fabric.

I made this one for fashion-forward custom apparel, I was thinking about those black linen tote bags you see at markets and farmers stalls. My sister grabbed one of the first tests I stitched and I havent got it back since. Customers have been using it for denim shirts and oversized canvas bags too. One buyer last october dropped it on a black waffle-weave kitchen towel and said the gold really sang against the dark weave.

Pair medium cutaway with woven denim and canvas. Black or charcoal fabric is where this one shines, the line-art style gets a bit lost on white if youre not careful. Skip light pastel fabrics, the black outline needs contrast to show properly.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Black linen or canvas market tote bagsBlack canvas tote front at 7 inches for a fashion market stall, the gold sunflowers pop against dark fabric in a way that reads as designed.
  • Denim shirt pocket or breast panelBlack jacket panel for 7.5 inches as a statement piece, my sister took the test run and I havent got it back.
  • Oversized cotton tee graphicOversized cream cotton tee at 6 inches for a boho summer top that looks boutique-made rather than home-stitched.
  • Kitchen towel waffle-weave decorationCharcoal waffle-weave kitchen towel for the customer who made one last october, said the black outline reads crisply on dark terry.
  • Fashion-forward apron designNatural linen apron bib for a florist shop or market-stall uniform piece centred on the front panel.
  • Summer sun hat embroideryNavy canvas makeup bag or cosmetic pouch at 4 inches, the black and gold palette suits the navy-and-gold zip combination.
  • Cosmetics pouch or makeup bagSun hat brim side at 3 inches for a summer festival fashion accessory that reads as intentional styling.
  • Womens jean jacket back panelDenim shirt breast pocket at a medium size for an understated fashion detail that looks like it grew there.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
