Worked up this one because I kept getting requests for something that captured the whole fall mood in a single design. Theres alot going on here and it actually works. The pumpkin body carries a leopard-spot outline pattern, open black satin columns doing the spotting work, and then inside the lower half the sunflower petals fan out in orange, like the pumpkin is wearing the flower underneath its skin. Brown stem and little botanical sprigs at the top give it that garden-picked quality.

3 colours and three stops: orange first for the pumpkin base, then brown for the stem, then black for all the spot outlining and detail work. Color changes: 2. Digitised at density 721, which is on the lighter side on purpose, the spot lines need breathing room or theyll merge into each other. Send a chat note if youre stitching onto dark rust corduroy and want my recommended stabiliser setup for that.

5 sizes in the file, 3 inches up to 7 inches. Stitch counts go from 10,498 at the smallest to 27,274 at the biggest, so its not a monster file thread-wise. At the 4-inch it sits beautifully on a shirt pocket or a jacket sleeve patch. I get messages from fall market sellers who use this on burlap pennants, and honestly it reads gorgeous at a distance, the three-colour contrast is quite strong even in booth lighting.

Run a stable cutaway on stretch fabrics or fleece. Add a water-soluble topping on the orange sections if your fabric has any pile. Use chocolate brown poly thread for stop 2 to keep the warmth consistent. Pair this with earthy tones, rust, ochre, warm linen, picked up a bunch of rust corduroy remnants last autumn specifically to test this design on and I was suprised how well the spot pattern transferred to that texture.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Rust corduroy jacket sleeve patchThe 4-inch version sits cleanly on a jacket sleeve, the three autumn colours working perfectly with rust or burnt-sienna fabric.
  • Fall farmers market tote bagPop 5-in on a natural cotton bag for fall markets, the leopard-sunflower combo draws real attention at booths.
  • Autumn pillow cover centrepieceUse the 7-inch on a linen or cotton pillow panel as the main focal piece, surrounded by plain autumn-coloured trim.
  • Burlap pennant banner seasonal decorThe 3-inch on a burlap pennant reads clearly from several feet away, great for seasonal shop or home displays.
  • Kids back-to-school sweater pocketScale to 3 inches for a kids sweater chest pocket, enough detail without overwhelming smaller garment real estate.
  • Thanksgiving table runner corner motifThe 4-inch fits neatly in the corner of a linen table runner, repeating at intervals for a coordinated harvest look.
  • Harvest festival apron bibPop 5-in on an apron bib panel in oat or tan canvas for a seasonal kitchen or craft fair piece.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
